Planning Inc.<\/a> \u2014 a planning and design company focused on shaping the future through ICT \u2014 in collaboration with the Mitaka Network University Promotion Organization. The project was supported by a FY2023 industry-academia-public collaborative research grant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In Mitaka City, Tokyo, a wide variety of local information initiatives are actively underway, including regional history research through the <span class=\"s1\"><i>Mitaka Whole City Museum<\/i><\/span> and the <span class=\"s1\"><i>Miimu<\/i><\/span> eco-museum project, activities by the Mitaka City Tourism Association, projects promoting shopping district revitalization and public health, as well as astronomy and science outreach programs. These efforts are shared through apps, websites, printed materials, and other media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Based on the concept of <span class=\"s1\"><i>onko-chishin<\/i><\/span> \u2014 \u201clearning from the past to create new knowledge\u201d \u2014 this project aimed to develop an application that brings together and introduces Mitaka\u2019s rich collection of locally created maps and historical and cultural information. The goal was to create something anyone could easily access on a smartphone, whether as a companion for walking around the city or as a digital resource for local and lifelong learning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">M.T.
