Sponsoring the 18th “Community Safety and Security Map Contest”
Code for History is proud to become a sponsoring organization for the 18th Community Safety and Security Map Contest, organized by the Research Center for Disaster Mitigation of Historic Cities at Ritsumeikan University.
This annual contest, now in its 18th year, invites elementary school students from across Japan to create maps based on their own fieldwork and observations made while walking through their communities.
Submissions will be accepted from Tuesday, August 20 through Wednesday, September 25, 2024. All submitted works will be carefully reviewed by a panel of eleven judges, and outstanding entries will be recognized with awards in October.
Past submissions and photos from previous award ceremonies can be viewed on the official website.

As sponsoring companies and organizations, we will also provide supplementary prizes for selected award-winning entries.
We are already looking forward to seeing the maps created by the children.
