Maplat family November 2026 release now available

On November 2, we published the November release of the Maplat family. This is the second update since we moved to monthly releases. The next release, for December, is planned for December 7.

Libraries published on npm

MaplatTransform had no changes this month and stays at 1.1.0.

Harumi and Nagarjuna move under @c4h

To match our other libraries, Harumi and Nagarjuna are now published as @c4h/harumi and @c4h/nagarjuna.

The contents are the same, so changing the package name in your install command and imports is all you need to do. No new versions will be published under the old names harumi and nagarjuna. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you migrate.

Nagarjuna now officially includes NagaIME, the new IME we previewed in October. The default demo now uses it, and the previous demo remains available as legacy.html. The existing IMEManager is deprecated and is planned for removal in 2.0.0.

Harumi fixes an exception that could occur depending on the input string, and parts of the README have been rewritten.

Fixes in Maplat and MaplatCore

MaplatCore fixes a bug where specifying false or 0 in the settings sometimes had no effect. We also added an API for removing individual lines and polygons, and a per-map setting (noCache) that turns off tile caching. Some tile sources, such as the standard OpenStreetMap tiles, do not allow client-side caching. You can now disable caching for those maps alone and keep it enabled for the others.

Maplat's changes are mainly security fixes. In the map switching UI, a map label that contains HTML is now shown as plain text instead of being treated as tags. If you used HTML in labels for decoration, please check how they look now.

Other libraries

Chuci's YouTube viewer now accepts only https URLs. YouTube URLs that use http still display as before, but URLs written without https://, such as "youtu.be/…", no longer display.

Weiwudi fixes a bug where an invalid value for the cache size limit (cacheMaxBytes) caused the cache to keep being cleared.

MaplatTin and Quyuan have minor updates. Chokei, our icon set for stone cultural heritage, is published as 2.1.0 on GitHub.

MaplatEditor 1.2.0

MaplatEditor 1.2.0 is available on GitHub Releases.

The big change is that the app now notifies you when an update is available. It never updates on its own. It updates only when you choose "Update" and then "Restart and update". You can also turn off the startup check in the settings. Notifications should start arriving with the next version, due in December.

We also included requests from users. Import and export now remember the folder you used last time. When exporting, you can now choose what to include, such as whether to include tiles.

As a security improvement, images behind a symbolic link inside the data folder are no longer shown when the link points somewhere outside the folder. This keeps the app from reading files outside the data folder. If you used the app this way, please move those images into the data folder. Placing the data folder itself in OneDrive or a similar location still works as before.

The Windows version is now signed with Azure Artifact Signing.

Known issue

We have found a bug in Chuci's image selector. If you go back once with "previous" and then move to another image, a different image may appear when you close the viewer.

The bug has existed since 1.0.1. We found it too late to fix it before this version's deadline, so it will be fixed in December. It also affects Quyuan, image display in Maplat POIs, and apps exported from MaplatEditor. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please send bug reports and requests to the GitHub Issues of each repository.
